Police nab man who allegedly molested woman near Serangoon Gardens

Police arrested a 41-year-old man on Thursday for outraging the modesty of a woman near Serangoon Gardens.

The victim lodged a police report on Feb 5 after she was allegedly molested by the suspect when she alighted from a bus in Serangoon Gardens. The woman yelled at the suspect, who then ran into a car and drove away.

She managed to take down the vehicle number, and officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division managed to establish the identity of the suspect, subsequently arresting him at Tuas.

The suspect will be charged on Saturday for outrage of modesty, which is punishable with a jail term of up to two years and caning.
