A 22-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedics after a traffic accident on the PIE on the evening of Aug 11.

Responding to queries from The Straits Times, the SCDF and police said they were alerted to the accident on the PIE towards Tuas, before the exit to Tuas Checkpoint, at about 5.45pm on Aug 11.

The accident involved a trailer and a motorcycle, the police said.

A 30-year-old male trailer driver is assisting with police investigations.

A TikTok video posted on Aug 11 showed both lanes of the slip road at Exit 41 of the PIE blocked, with several police and SCDF vehicles at the scene. A blue tent could be seen in front of a trailer truck.
