SINGAPORE - More than 800,000 Singaporean households will get their next instalment of utilities rebates from this month, said the Finance Ministry in a statement on Friday (Jan 1).
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Voucher - Utilities-Save (U-Save) is paid out four times a year.
In this year's first payout, eligible families in Housing Board flats will get rebates of between $45 and $65.
The amount depends on the flat type.
Households whose members own more than one property are not eligible for the GST Voucher - U-Save.
On average, those living in one- or two-room flats can offset about three to four months of utilities bills.
Those living in three- or four-room flats can offset up to two months of bills.
The GST Voucher - U-Save scheme is part of the permanent GST Voucher scheme which is designed to help lower- and middle-income households with living expenses.
The next two utilities rebates will be paid out in April and July.
