SINGAPORE – More than 5,900 units of e-vaporisers and related components were found in a car entering Singapore at Woodlands Checkpoint on July 24.

In a Facebook post on Aug 5, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said it foiled the smuggling attempt made via a Malaysia-registered car.

Its officers had directed the car for enhanced checks. They then uncovered the e-vaporisers and related components, as well as 150 cartons of heatsticks, or heated tobacco products.

The items were hidden in various compartments of the car, said ICA.

It said the case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority for further investigation.
