Malay-Muslim non-government organisation Majlis Pusat is under police investigation, reported Malay-language daily Berita Harian (BH) on Thursday. The probe is believed to be related to the annual Hari Raya light-up projects handled by the group.

BH, citing sources, reported that documents and computer equipment were seized by police officers from the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) after they raided Majlis Pusat's office in Toa Payoh Central recently. Majlis Pusat, in a statement to BH on Wednesday, said it was assisting the CAD in their investigation of the lighting projects for 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

MCC Events & Production's Salleh Sam, the vendor for light-up, was also reported to have been questioned by the CAD.

The light-up is a key feature of Hari Raya celebrations along Geylang Serai each year. This year, the neon lights stretched for 2.5km from Sims Avenue to Geylang Road.
