SINGAPORE - Pedestrian Night is on at Orchard Road again this Saturday evening, with a part of the shopping belt going car-free for a variety of activities.

The organisers have partnered the Singapore Media Festival to stage an outdoor screening of short films and animation clips, dubbed Cinema on A Great Street. The evening will also feature performances by the Singapore Repertory Theatre and homegrown bands, such as Jack and Rai, during the road closure from 6pm to 11pm.

Children can also get up to some high jinks in a bouncy castle, while others can take photos with familiar tourism icons and traditional Christmas mascots.

This Saturday's Pedestrian Night is the third of six monthly events organised by the Orchard Road Business Association and is part of the Tourism50 celebrations.

Besides the stretch of road from shopping centres Ion Orchard to Ngee Ann City, roads from Mount Elizabeth Hospital leading towards Orchard Road - between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road - are also closed for the event.
