SINGAPORE - A crawler crane toppled at a work site in Bedok North Avenue 1 last Saturday (May 27), leaving its operator with an injured ankle.

The crane was being assembled when it lost balance and tilted to its side, said an Manpower Ministry (MOM) spokesman in response to queries from The Straits Times.

The crane operator is receiving treatment for an ankle injury he added.

The project's developer is the Housing and Development Board, and the worksite's main contractor is China Construction Realty, the MOM spokesman added.

The use of cranes has been stopped at the worksite while MOM investigates the cause of the incident.
