Dr Loh Seong Feei, medical director of Thomson Fertility Centre, said that while more couples are using donor eggs to conceive, it is still a huge psychological barrier for many.

He said: "The barrier they have is that they are not the biological mum. And many would not tell others they have used donor eggs (to get pregnant)."
