OCBC expands safe cycling campaign to include school-going children

Some 900 primary school students were given a presentation on cycling safety on Monday, as part of the OCBC Cycle Singapore's Safe Cycling Campaign.

The presentation, conducted for students aged nine to 12 from the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Kellock (CHIJ Kellock), marks an expansion of the campaign's scope to include school children.

OCBC plans to bring this presentation to other schools. This campaign opens in the wake of several road accidents involving cyclists - including a fatal one in Tampines three weeks ago that saw two young brothers hit by a cement mixer.

CHIJ Kellock principal Clara Lim-Tan said: "It is quite different when students are actually able to see and follow the actions before their eyes, compared to merely hearing about it in a talk."
