The number of abortions carried out here has fallen by about half in almost a decade, as couples are more savvy about birth control and there are fewer unplanned pregnancies, counsellors say.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), there were about 6,400 abortions here in 2018 - down from about 6,800 in 2017 and about 12,000 in 2010. The 2018 figures are the latest available.
