SINGAPORE - The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) announced on Monday (Sept 11) that it has appointed a new pro-chancellor, Ms Jennie Chua, who is currently chairman of Alexandra Health System.
The appointment was effective from July this year.
In this role, Ms Chua will preside at the university's annual convocation ceremonies and undertake other duties delegated by the chancellor.
She joins three others holding the same post - Mr S. Chandra Das, Dr Wee Cho Yaw and Mr Othman Haron Eusofe.
Ms Chua was on NTU's board of trustees between 2006 and 2014. During this time, she also chaired NTU's alumni and development committee.
"This key appointment as pro-chancellor of NTU allows me to continue serving this great global university, ranked today among the world's top institutions," Ms Chua said.
She is also the non-resident ambassador to the United Mexican States, a board director with the Ministry of Health Holdings and a director of three listed companies.
She also chairs the Singapore Film Commission Advisory Board and is deputy chairman of Temasek Foundation International.
