North East Line service between Harbourfront and Dhoby Ghaut delayed by fault

A train fault delayed service on the North East Line (NEL) on Saturday morning.

In a 7.20am alert via its mobile information app, NEL operator SBS Transit told commuters heading towards HarbourFront to expect 15 minutes of additional travel time.

At 7.33am, it said free bus rides were available between HarbourFront and Dhoby Ghaut stations.

SBS Transit said regular service on the NEL resumed at 7.57am, and that it was running smoothly as of 8.26am. It also ceased free bus rides by then. The operator has apologised for the delay.

A week ago, a power fault disrupted service along a stretch of nine North East Line stations for more than 30 minutes.

The delay affected 5,900 commuters.
