Nominations for Inspiring Teacher of English Award 2013 open

Nominations for the Inspiring Teacher of English Award 2013 opened on Monday.

Students, parents and teachers may nominate teachers who are passionate about the English language and effective in helping their students learn the language well.

The award, which started in 2008, is a national award for English teachers in Singapore schools, and is presented by the Speak Good English Movement and The Straits Times, with the support of the Education Ministry. Last year, nine teachers received the award, out of a total of 63 nominations.

The deadline for submissions is April 18, and nominations are open to all English teachers from primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes. Nomination forms can be found at www.inspiringenglishteacher.sg
