The public can now submit nominations for this year's President's Award for Teachers, which recognises outstanding teachers for their dedication and hard work in developing the young.

Besides being role models for their students, nominees must be teachers who also contribute to the professional growth of fellow teachers.

Sixty-one teachers have received the award since it started in 1998.

Nomination forms are found at all primary and secondary schools, junior colleges, centralised institutes and the Ministry of Education's customer service centre at 1 North Buona Vista Drive.

The closing date for nominations is Feb 21. The award will be presented by President Tony Tan Keng Yam at the Istana on Teachers' Day.
