The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) on Thursday said it has doubled the insurance coverage for live kidney donors to $200,000 under its group living policy, insured by NTUC Income.

The foundation also launched a new Patient Advocacy Programme that will enlists kidney failure patients turned counsellors, who will help look after the psychological and social needs of other patients.

These initiatives were unveiled by NKF chairman Koh Poh Tiong at the 4th anniversary celebrations of the foundation's Kidney Live Donor Support Programme that was attended by Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Mr Heng Chee How.
