SINGAPORE - The Singapore Zoo is getting at least seven new big cats, including a pair of rare white tigers.

Named Pasha and Keysa, the two-year-old siblings hail from Indonesia's Maharani Zoo.

They arrived in Singapore in January, and were kept under quarantine for a month.

They are getting used to their new home in the existing white tiger habitat, and spend time sniffing and exploring their environment, said the zoo on Tuesday.

Keepers have been scattering meat around the enclosure to keep the tigers stimulated and occupied.

Once the zoo is confident they are comfortable, they will be exhibited on a regular basis.

Two of the zoo's three existing white tigers have died, while the remaining one - named Omar - is 15 years old.

Other new arrivals include four cheetahs from the De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre in South Africa and an African lion from Dierenpark Emmen in the Netherlands.

Two male cheetahs will be introduced to their exhibit in early March, while the lion - named Timba - is awaiting its harem of three females, which will arrive this month.
