The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will have their tactical training facilities at one integrated centre by 2018.
Called the Home Team Tactical Centre, the 29ha complex will be located at the current site of the Police Tactical Training Centre at Mandai Road.
It will house the a new Police Tactical Training Centre, Special Operations Command Base, Key Installations Units and SCDF's training facilities. It will also have new specialised training facilities such as an Urban Search and Rescue Training Facility.
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who also Home Affairs Minister, was the guest of honour at the centre's groundbreaking ceremony. He said the new centre reflects the Home Team's effort to work together to "deal with a full spectrum of incidents and crises effectively".
