A new bus service - 653 - will start on Jan 13 for commuters living around Hume, Hillview and Bukit Batok who want to head into the city.

The service will operate on weekdays during the morning and evening peak hours. In the morning, it will ply Hume Avenue, Hillview Avenue, Bukit Batok East Avenue 2 and Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 before heading towards Robinson Road and Marina Boulevard via the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) and the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE). It does the reverse route in the evening.

It will be operated by ComfortDelGro Bus.

This is one of the new routes to be introduced under the Land Transport Authority's $1.1 billion Bus Service Enhancement Programme.
