New Australian air force chief visits Singapore, calls on Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen

SINGAPORE - The Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) newest chief, who is in Singapore for his introductory visit, called on Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, the Defence Ministry (Mindef) said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 26).

Air Marshal (AM) Leo Davies had earlier called on General Perry Lim and Chief of Air Force Major-General Hoo Cher Mou.

As part of his programme, AM Davies will visit Sembawang Air Base and take a familiarisation flight on board a Super Puma helicopter to Paya Lebar Air Base on Wednesday.

The visit of AM Davies "underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Australia", Mindef added.

Both air forces have interacted regularly through bilateral and multilateral training exercises such as Exercise Pitch Black, professional exchanges, and the cross-attendance of professional courses.

"Both air forces will be working closely to strengthen and enhance bilateral defence ties and explore new initiatives for military training and cooperation," said Mindef.
