New agency to push for employment for the disabled

SG Enable, a new agency set up in July, will push for employment of people with disabilities.

Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing for the first time on Friday gave details on the agency's role. He said that SG Enable will have more systemic planning and engagement when it comes to facilitating services between the disabled and their employers.

Mr Chan was speaking at the appointment ceremony of three new members of the Steering Committee of the Enabling Employers Network at the MSF building.

The agency will also be housed at a new location - the former Employment and Employability Institute at Redhill - and the facility will be fully operational by early 2015.
