MyRepublic offers easy way to stream American TV series

USERS looking for easy ways to stream the latest American TV series and Hollywood movies from websites like Netflix and Hulu will soon have a new and cheaper option.

Fibre broadband service provider MyRepublic will start offering its Teleport service from April on a trial basis.

When launched in June, it will be priced at about $5 per month - half the price of a similar service offered by Internet service provider ViewQwest.

Both services work similarly. They rely on technologies that mask one's location to trick, say, Netflix into thinking that the customer lives in the US.

Without such smarts, users here would have no access to such websites as Netflix and Hulu as they restrict content distribution to certain regions like the United States and Britain.
