Member of Parliament Sun Xueling gave birth to a daughter on Wednesday. She posted a photo of her newborn, Sophie, on Facebook yesterday afternoon.

"Welcomed Baby Sophie to the family yesterday ;) Warm gratitude to the doctors and nurses who tended to me and great thanks to residents, friends and volunteers who have wished me well and supported me through this journey," the 37-year-old wrote.

Ms Sun, who is an MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, also has a three-year-old daughter, Sera.
