Indonesia's 5th economic stimulus measure to be announced today

Indonesian government will announce the 5th economic stimulus measure today to boost investment and revive economy. President Joko Widodo has asked the country's economic team chaired by Economic Chief Minister Darmin Nasution to regularly issue deregulation policies to boost investment climate. Indonesia's economy expanded at the slowest pace in six years in the first and second quarter by 4.71 percent and 4.67 percent respectively, and the government has launched four stimulus packages to kickstart growth since September.

Foundation laying ceremony for new city Amaravati

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today (Thursday) lay the foundation stone for Amaravati, the new capital city of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, in a boost for the project that is a test of Indian efforts to create world class urban infrastructure. It is also the most high profile collaboration between India and Singapore, which has created the Amaravati masterplan and will continue to help build the capital city from scratch. Mr S. Iswaran, Minister for Trade and Industry, will represent Singapore at the foundation laying ceremony. - NIRMALA GANAPATHY
