First Social Service Summit to take place

The first Social Service Summit by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) will take place today (July 19).

The summit will look into the development of the social service sector, and commit to actions that will prepare the sector for the future. It also seeks to gather views from participants.

Annual Singapore Corporate Awards to be held

The annual Singapore Corporate Awards, the "Oscars" of public-listed companies, will be presented this evening (July 19) at the Resorts World Convention Centre.

Up for grabs are awards for the best managed board, best chief executive officer, best chief financial officer, best investor relations and best annual report.

Talks on search for MH370

Malaysia is expected to host a ministerial-level discussion with Australia and China today (July 19) in Kuala Lumpur on how to proceed in the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, which has been missing since March 2014.

Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said the search will not be called off and an announcement on the way forward will be made.
