More than 700 posts looking for takers at job fair

More than 700 jobs will be on offer at an employment fair targeted at mature workers and those returning to the workforce, to be held on Sunday at Loyang Point.

These range from retail assistant and customer service assistant positions to machinist and welder posts, at six companies including convenience store chain Cheers, Kopitiam Group of Companies and SATS Ltd.

The recruitment drive from 10am to 3pm is organised by the North East Community Development Council, with the support of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

It is part of the agency's WorkPro scheme which gives incentives to employers to hire mature workers and those returning to the workforce, such as stay-at-home parents.

WDA career consultants will also be on site to provide career and training advice.

Interested applicants should bring their identity cards, educational certificates, and/or training certificates.
