More than 50 brands take part in travel fair set up to rival Natas

SINGAPORE - More than 50 brands will be participating in a travel fair next month that rivals an annual fair held by the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (Natas).

Travel Revolution, formerly known as the Outbound Travel Fair, confirmed the list of exhibitors on Wednesday, which includes the big four agencies - Chan Brothers Travel, Dynasty Travel, CTC Travel and SA Tours - as well as major players like Singapore Airlines.

The fair's name change "signifies the need for travel agencies to be visionary" amid the changing travel landscape and travel patterns of consumers, it said in a statement. It will be held at The Sands Expo and Convention Centre from March 27 to 29.

The fair was set up by a group of 24 travel agencies which last November decided to boycott the Natas fair over issues such as admission charges for the public and unsatisfactory publicity for the event.

Despite subsequent concessions from Natas, the rival group stuck to its plan to hold its own fair. Natas later brought forward the dates of its fair at Singapore Expo to the weekend of March 6 to 8, three weeks earlier than previously announced.

Admission to both fairs is free.
