More than 1,000 bid farewell to traffic cop

More than a thousand people paid their final respects to Staff Sergeant Nadzrie Matin, 29, who was accorded a ceremonial police burial at the Choa Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery yesterday.

The Traffic Police officer died while on patrol on Thursday in an accident in Serangoon Road.

Minister for Law and Home Affairs K. Shanmugam, who was among those who offered condolences to the family, described him as a "true son of Singapore" and an "unsung hero" whose death was a tremendous loss.
