Trump-Kim summit: More may have been achieved than meets the eye

Given the huge publicity hype and inflated expectations that accompanied the Singapore summit yesterday, it was inevitable that the joint text signed by United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would be regarded as a letdown.

The document says little that is either new or groundbreaking, apart from the inevitable references to the historic nature of the meeting.
