SINGAPORE - The sleepy Sembawang coastline is set for a little bit more action.
The People's Association's Water-Venture Centre in Sembawang on Saturday morning launched a new, expanded facility that aims to double its current usage rate of 1,000 people per month. The expanded facility will have four dorms with rooms for 160 campers and offer activities like trail walks and kayaking.
Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan, who was guest of honour at the facility's opening, hoped would make full use of the new services offered. He said: "It will make an exciting outdoor destination in the North, especially for residents interested in water sports."
