Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, accompanied by his wife, Mrs Lee, being presented with a Singapore Book of Records certificate for the most number of mooncakes displayed, at Teck Ghee Lantern Night 2017 yesterday. A total of 40,100 miniature mooncakes in a 4.3m-by-2.3m display at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park helped Teck Ghee Grassroots Organisations set the record. The feat was accomplished by grassroots volunteers and residents at the event, where PM Lee, the MP for the ward, was the guest of honour. The mooncakes, sponsored by the Automobile Association of Singapore, will be distributed to residents in Ang Mo Kio GRC and Sengkang West SMC, as well as homes, shelters, schools and other community organisations, after the event.
