MOM to survey 33,000 households from May to July

SINGAPORE - The Manpower Ministry (MOM) research and statistics department will be surveying 33,000 households over the next few months.

Households that have been selected will be notified by post. The survey, which comprises the Comprehensive Labour Force Survey and General Household Survey, takes place from May 18 to July 31.

The Ministry aims "to collect key information on demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population to help in the formulation of policies and programmes," it said in a statement on Thursday.

Participants can complete the survey online via the Manpower Survey Online System, or opt for a phone interview by calling the survey hotline at 6317-1009, from 8.30am to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays or 8.30am to 5pm on weekends.

If households cannot be reached by telephone, MOM interviewers, displaying MOM-issued identification cards, will conduct house visits to request for a face-to-face interview. Residents can verify the interviewers' identities by calling the MOM Contact Centre at 6438- 5122.

MOM encouraged households with Internet access to participate in the survey online.

The information provided by participants will be kept confidential in accordance with Chapter 317 of the Statistics Act. For more information, the public can visit www.mom.gov.sg/hse.
