Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on Sunday for outrage of modesty on a public bus. The incident happened at about 7.30pm that evening, on a Woodlands-bound double-decker bus departing Sengkang.

A 14-year-old victim shouted at the suspect when she was molested, drawing the attention of other passengers who came forward to assist in detaining the suspect. Upon reaching Woodlands, the passenger service centre at the bus interchange was alerted and the police were called.

Officers from Jurong Police Division placed the suspect under arrest along Woodlands Avenue 2. The maximum penalty for outrage of modesty is two years' jail, a fine and caning.
