MOE, Temasek Foundation set up Sabah Earthquake Fund to assist familes of victims

SINGAPORE - A fund has been set up for the families of victims who lost their lives, as well as those whose livelihoods were affected, in the June 5 earthquake that hit Sabah.

This was in response to requests from the public, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Temsasek Foundation said in a joint statement on Tuesday (June 23).

MOE will be in charge of collecting donations, which will be administered by the Temasek Foundation.

A committee comprising representatives appointed by both organisations are tasked with overseeing the manner in which the donations are received and allocated.

Members of the public can make their contributions to the following groups of beneficiaries - the families of former Tanjong Katong Primary School teachers Mohammad Ghazi bin Mohamed and Terrence Loo Jian Ling, the family of former adventure instructor Muhammad Daanish bin Amran, and the Mountain Torq trainers and Sabah mountain guides.

They can do so via cheque from now till July 25. All cheques should be made payable to the "Sabah Earthquake Fund" and sent to the following address:
