Mobile bus garden to bring pupils closer to nature

Nature will be pulling right up to the doorsteps of school children.

The roving bus that will visit different primary schools will have its interior outfitted with a garden. It will feature 57 tropical plant species commonly found in Singapore and will be split into three sections - the bromeliad and airplant garden, the cactus garden and the fernery garden.

Only some natural light will be allowed to penetrate through the foliage to mimic a real jungle atmosphere.

The garden bus will be unveiled on March 25 by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education Sim Ann at North Vista Primary. The garden is organised by National Geographic Singapore in partnership with NParks and the Science Centre Singapore.
