SINGAPORE - Communications and Information Minister Yaacob Ibrahim will be in Britain from Tuesday (Sept 15) to Friday (Sept 18) to learn about the British Library and archival institutions' collections, and outreach and engagement strategies.

He will visit the British Library, the National Archives and other cultural institutions. Officials from his ministry and the National Library Board (NLB) will join him.

The ministry said the study trip will help Singapore come up with strategies to strengthen the National Library Board's collections on Singapore and the region, facilitate greater public access to these collections, and encourage greater participation from people through improved outreach initiatives.

Singapore will also present the British Library with a collection of books on Singapore as part of the NLB's SG50 Gift of Books initiative.
