Commuters who own MasterCard credit cards will be able to use them to buy or top up ez-link cards.
By this June, TransitLink's ticket offices at nine train stations will be able to accept MasterCard cards for payment. They are: Bugis, Changi Airport, Chinatown, City Hall, Farrer Park, Lavender, Orchard, Somerset and Woodlands.
These locations were selected for their "higher traveller usage", TransitLink and MasterCard said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
Another three offices are expected to accept the cards by next year. Each credit card transaction comes with a fee of 50 cents.
Said Transit Link's chief executive Lee Yuen Hee: "We are constantly looking for ways to simplify and save time for commuters, and offering a diverse range of payment options is key to achieving this."
