More families hiring maids to care for seniors from age 65

More households are getting a domestic helper to help care for older people in the family as soon as they turn 65, but the discounted levy rate for maids in such households will soon be offered no more.

About 3,000 families employed maids to support seniors aged 65 and 66 as of December last year under the aged person scheme, double that a decade ago in 2008, according to latest data from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
