Laid off and seeking new job? Task force can help
70% of retrenched workers helped by group last year found new jobs within six months

The Taskforce for Responsible Retrenchment and Employment Facilitation said 9,120 Singaporeans were retrenched from 1,247 companies last year. About one-quarter of them agreed to get help, which includes job matching, after they were contacted by the task force. The rest said they wanted to find employment on their own or take a break from work.

Seven in 10 retrenched workers, who were helped by a task force last year, landed new jobs in six months.
Part of the reason is that the task force, formed by the Government in March 2016 to help Singaporeans get back to work, was able to get more timely and complete information to help the retrenched workers find new jobs.
