About 25 female bus captains and employees from Tower Transit Singapore were treated to express manicures yesterday in celebration of International Women's Day. The bus firm tied up with Nail Social, a social enterprise that helps local underprivileged women, to offer the service at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange and Bulim Bus Depot. From about 11am to 1pm at its Bukit Batok interchange staff lounge and from 11.30am to 2.30pm at its Bulim depot crew room, the women received free manicures in between shifts. Tower Transit said the initiative was part of its efforts to make the public bus industry more welcoming to women.
