Man who showed obscene video to girls at coffee shop arrested for public nuisance

SINGAPORE - A 62-year-old man who allegedly showed an obscene video to two girls at a coffee shop was arrested for causing public nuisance.

A video and photo of a man at the coffee shop was posted on Facebook on Saturday (Oct 14) by user Lynne Lim.

Two policemen are seen speaking to another man.

She alleged that the man showed a "lewd, obscene video" to two girls aged 15 and 10 at a coffee shop at Block 111, Toa Payoh Lorong 1.

Ms Lim wrote that the man showed the video to the girls who were sitting at a table across from his.

According to her, the girls' mother screamed at him and approached the police for help. Police then arrived and took statements.

The police told The Straits Times on Monday that they received a call for assistance at Block 111, Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, at 8.29pm on Saturday.

"A 62-year-old man was arrested for causing public nuisance," said the police.

Police investigations are ongoing.
