Man jailed for underage sex, grievous hurt and breach of domestic exclusion order

A man was jailed for 34 months on Monday after he was convicted of having sex with a minor, causing grievous hurt and breaching a domestic exclusion order. Mohamad Danial Mohamad Nor, 28, pleaded guilty to the charges.

A district court heard that last August, a 14-year-old girl met him through mutual friends and they started a relationship . In February this year, the victim ran away from home to meet Danial. Part of the reason for running away was that her family objected to the relationship. After meeting Danial, they went to the 10th floor of Block 418 Jurong West Street 42 where they later had sex.

Two months later, Danial had drinks with some friends near the driveway behind Jurong Superbowl in Yuan Ching Road. After the drinking session he wanted to go home and needed some money for transport fare.

He approached Mr Nagah Rajhan Suppiah, 45, for money but when the latter refused, he punched him several times on the face and kicked his body before fleeing. The victim was warded for about two weeks.

Last December, Danial brought some friends to his Ho Ching Road flat despite a domestic exclusion order taken out by his mother, Madam Khatijah Ahmad, 53, who had also been granted a personal protection order.

She found the group rowdy and asked her son to leave but he refused. Police were called.

Danial has 10 previous convictions for mainly breach of personal protection or expedited order. He was also convicted of carnal connection with a girl under 16 in 2008.
