Another search in the sea is being conducted for a man feared to have drowned near East Coast Park just a day after a male student went missing in the waters off Changi.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the incident at East Coast Park at 12.20pm on Monday, and SCDF personnel is currently conducting a "surface search" at the location.

When The Straits Times arrived at the scene in the early afternoon, divers were seen scouring the waters, and the area near a raised rocky platform close to the Burger King outlet was cordoned off. About a dozen emergency personnel were at hand, an ambulance, a police car, and a fire truck were on stand-by.
