SINGAPORE - A 53-year-old man died after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into a tree in Paya Lebar Road on June 16.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police said they were alerted to the accident, which happened in the direction of Upper Paya Lebar Road, at about 12.05pm.

The man was taken unconscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he later died, they added.

In photos of the accident shared with citizen journalism site Stomp, a black car is seen partially mounted on the left road verge after coming to a stop in front of a tree.

The car’s front bumper and passenger-side door are heavily damaged, and its licence plate is dislodged.

The man was taken unconscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he later died.

SCDF officers can be seen attending to a person on the ground.

Police investigations are ongoing.
