Man charged in court for allegedly attacking and molesting woman in West Coast

A 22-year-old man, who is believed to have attacked and molested a 25-year-old woman along West Coast Road last Monday, was charged in court this morning for outrage of modesty.

The suspect, Radin Rizwan bin Radin Rosman, who is unemployed, is alleged to have slipped his hand under the victim's singlet and squeezed her right breast. He also punched her a few times on her face and head.

The incident took place at West Coast Park when the victim had been on her way home from dinner with friends. The suspect, who is said to have been riding a stolen bicycle, got off and punched her. When she fell, he pinned her to the ground and started to grope her.

He ran off as two passers-by approached, leaving behind the bicycle.

Sixty officers were deployed to interview witnesses and residents in the area, review closed-circuit television footage, and retrieve physical evidence.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday afternoon at Merpati Road in MacPherson - an area he is believed to frequent.

If convicted, he faces at least two years in jail or a term of not more than 10 years with canning. He will be remanded for a week at Clementi police station and his case will he heard in court next Friday.

The court issued a gag order to protect the victim's identity.

The police said that apart from this incident, there is another case of outrage of modesty which also took place on Monday in the West Coast area.

Investigations are ongoing to establish if the suspect was involved in the other case.
