Man arrested for throwing down flower pots from flat

A MAN was arrested on Sunday for throwing down two flower pots from a block of flats that landed in a badminton court.

The flower pots, thrown from Block 9 in Selegie Road, did not injure anyone. But residents who had witnessed the act reported it to the police who went knocking door to door. Officers eventually found the suspect after they saw flower-pot stains in his balcony that matched the side of the broken flower pots.

The man can be charged for committing a rash act which endangers the life or personal safety of others, under section 336(a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If found guilty of the offence, he can be jailed up to 6 months and fined up to $2,500.

The man is now remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for a psychiatric assessment.
