SINGAPORE – A 25-year-old man was arrested for driving while under the influence of intoxicating substances after a hit-and-run accident on the afternoon of Sept 20.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they were alerted to the accident on the PIE towards Changi Airport at about 5.50pm on Sept 20. The accident happened before the exit to the BKE.
It involved a motorcycle and a car, the police said.
The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man, was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and the driver was subsequently arrested.
A vape was seized, the police said, adding that the vape-related offence will be referred to the Health Sciences Authority.
In dashcam footage shared with Stomp, the car with the dashcam was travelling on the right-most lane of the Anak Bukit Flyover when a white car behind it swiftly moves across three lanes to the left and passes it.
The car is then seen overtaking a lorry in the second-leftmost lane and coming up close behind a mini-bus, before moving one lane to the right and hitting a motorcycle.
The car then continues and seemingly brushes against the centre divider, while the motorcyclist is seen rolling on the road.
Police investigations are ongoing.
