A 49-year-old man suspected of being a serial thief behind recent theft cases along Telok Blangah Road and Orchard Road has been arrested.

Police nabbed the man near Chin Swee Road on Thursday. They established his identity through CCTV footage and investigations, following two theft cases at a supermarket in Telok Blangah. Shoppers there had their belongings stolen from a supermarket trolley and baby stroller.

Police believe that the same man is responsible for two reported cases of theft along Orchard Road on Dec 19. If found guilty of theft, he may be jailed for up to three years and fined.
