SINGAPORE - A 31-year-old maid was arrested on Friday (Jan 19) after throwing items from a flat on the second floor.

The police told The Straits Times that they were alerted to the case of a rash act at Block 623, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9, at around 2.30pm.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested in relation to the case and police investigations are ongoing.

ST understands that the woman is an Indonesian maid. She had thrown several items from the window of the flat, including a wheelchair.

A video posted online shows the woman tossing items down, including a rice cooker, appliances and clothes, while a man is heard in the video making a call for help.

A pile of assorted items can be seen at the foot of the block.

At the time of the incident, there were about 20 people gathered at the block for a raid battle in Pokemon Go, an augmented reality game, Lianhe Wanbao reported on Saturday.

One player, who gave her name as Madam Chen, said the commotion from the items being thrown down drew the curiosity of the players, who looked up and realised that someone was throwing items out of the window.

Madam Chen, a 34-year-old saleswoman, said: "Some people saw it and took a video and uploaded it. Others took out their phones to call the police. Luckily, no one was hurt."

The maid's employer, a woman in her 60s who gave her name as Madam Lin, said the maid was newly hired and had been working for a month.

Police investigations are ongoing.
