The Land Transport Authority's (LTA) smartphone application, MyTransport.SG, won the Gold award of the "Best App/Content by Government/Community" category at the inaugural MOB-Ex Awards on March 21.
The app offers a wide range of information for all modes of land transportation to help commuters better plan their journeys. It provides facts on the nearest bus-stops and taxi stands, cycling paths, parking lot locations and availability, traffic camera images and real-time road conditions.
MyTransport.SG hit a peak of 3 million page-views a month. It also became the first in Asia Pacific to bag an award at the international Summit Emerging Media Award (EMA) 2012 for its achievements in 2012.
Said Mrs Rosina Howe-Teo, Group Director, Innovation & InfoComm Technology Group, LTA: "Users of MyTransport.SG can expect new or enhanced services every quarter, like islandwide bus arrival information and sharing of transport information via social media."
The MOB-Ex Awards is organised by Marketing Magazine and aims to celebrate mobile excellence and recognise leading contributors to the market's vibrant mobile marketing ecosystem.
