LTA to look into road safety ideas for pedestrians, cyclists: Faishal

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been tasked with looking into ideas raised during a discussion on road safety, said Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim.

In a post on Facebook on Friday, Dr Faishal said he met with a group of "concerned citizens" to discuss how to foster safe and responsible behaviour in road users - especially among more vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children.

The discussion also centred around raising road situation awareness among motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, he wrote.

Dr Faishal listed several suggestions that were raised, and will now be looked at the LTA, including traffic light design, making road safety a part of the school curriculum and helping motorists mitigate blind spots.
